2017 Gildan Charleston Classic Field Announced

PHILADELPHIA - The Gildan Charleston Classic has set the eight-team field, which includes Temple, for the 2017 tournament to be held Thursday, Friday and Sunday, Nov. 16, 17 and 19, at TD Arena in Charleston, S.C. The rest of the field includes Auburn, Clemson, Dayton, Hofstra, Indiana State, Old Dominion and Ohio.
The Charleston Classic appearance will be the third for the Owls, who went 2-1 in both 2008-09 and again in 2012-13. Fellow 2017 participant Clemson beat Temple 76-72 in the championship game of the tournament in 2008, and Clemson also played in the championship game in 2013.
Both Temple and Dayton were 2016 NCAA Tournament teams, with Dayton playing as a No. 7 seed and Temple as a No. 10 seed. Hofstra was a No. 5 seed in the 2016 NIT.
The family-friendly tournament offers the teams a week of practice, play and experiences in and around historic Charleston. Additional information, including travel packages, can be found on the Charleston Classic site at www.charlestonclassic.com.
