Obi Enechionyia Named NCAA.com and Big 5 Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - Temple men's basketball junior Obi Enechionyia has been named the NCAA.com and Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 27. These honors are in addition to the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week honor announced earlier. Â Â
The Owl forward led Temple (4-2) to the NIT Season Tip-Off title with back-to-back wins over nationally ranked teams. Temple came from behind to defeat No. 25/RV Florida State 89-86 on Nov. 24, and the next day the Owls took down No. 19/17 West Virginia 81-77.
Enechionyia was named Tournament MVP after averaging 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5.5 blocks in the Owls' two wins. He shot 15-of-26 from the field (.577) and 7-of-10 from three-point range. Enechionyia also blocked a career-high six shots vs. No. 25 Florida State, and played 78 of possible 80 minutes over the two games.
