Quinton Rose Earns Third American Conference Rookie of the Week Award
1.9.17 | Men's Basketball
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - For the third time this season, Temple freshman Quinton Rose has been named the American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for men's basketball. Rose also earned the honor twice in November after an impressive start to his debut season.
Coming off the bench for back-to-back 14-point efforts last week, Rose helped Temple to a 1-1 record including its first conference win against East Carolina on Jan. 7. He added a career-high five steals to his 14 points at SMU earlier in the week, and two more steals in the ECU win. Rose was nearly perfect against the Pirates, hitting 6-of-7 field goals and his only free throw attempt in just 18 minutes of action.
For the week, Rose shot 66.7 percent from the field (12-of-18).
The Owls are back in action at UConn on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 9 p.m. (CBSSN /1210 AM WPHT).
