Former Temple standout David Hawkins Signs with Fortitudo Pallacanestro Roma

PHILADELPHIA - Former Temple men's basketball great David Hawkins has signed with Fortitudo Pallacanestro Roma of the Italian Serie C league.
Hawkins, who is in his 10th season of professional basketball, is the third all-time leading scorer in Temple history. The 35-year old guard/forward tallied 2,077 points over his four-year (2000-04) career and his 24.4 scoring average as a senior in 2003-04 ranks third all-time in school history. A three-time all-conference and all-Big 5 honoree, Hawkins is the last Owl to score 40 points in a game, tallying 41 against UMass in a double-overtime win on March 3, 2004.
Hawkins has been part of championship teams in both the Italian and Turkish professional leagues. He was was named the MVP of the Italian Cup in 2006.
