Men's Basketball Signs Damian Dunn in Early Period

11.15.18 | Men's Basketball

PHILADELPHIA -- Damian Dunn, a 6-4 guard out of Meadowbrook (Ga.) High, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play men's basketball at Temple University.

"We are excited to welcome Damian to the Temple Basketball family," said Temple head coach Fran Dunphy. "He is not only a talented young man on the court, but outstanding citizen who will be a great fit as teammate. He will play a big part in helping the program continue its storied history of success."

A native of Kinston, N.C., Dunn transferred from Kinston High following the 2017-18 academic year.  As a junior at Kinston he averaged 17.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.4 steals per game as a junior while helping lead the Vikings to the top seed in the NCHSAA 2A Eastern bracket and a share of the ECC title.

Dunn earned First Team All-District 3 honors by the N.C. Basketball Coaches Association in 2017-18.

"Damian has good size for a guard at 6-4, and is probably closer to 6-5," said Temple associate head Aaron McKie.  "He is a scorer, who can post you up as well as shoot the three.  He also is a good playmaker with a toughness to his game.  He is simply an outstanding college basketball, and even a better person.  I am really going to enjoy coaching this young man."
