PHILADELPHIA - Behind four players in double figures in scoring and a 16-0 run to start the game, Temple men's basketball improved to 4-0 with an 81-67 win over Loyola Maryland (1-3) as part of the GotPrint.com Legends Classic presented by Old Trapper. It was the fourth of four straight home games to start the season for the Owls (4-0), who will now play their next five contests away from home.

Game Summary
> Temple never trailed in the game, exploding for a 16-0 run out of the gate. The Greyhounds kept it nearly even from there, but never got within fewer than six in the first half or nine in the second.
> The Owls shot 46.3 percent from the field and 81 percent at the free throw line (13-for-16).
> Much of Loyola Marymount's points came off nine three-pointers, while the Owls finished with a 44-26 lead in points in the paint.

> Rounding out four Owls in double figures was senior Ernest Aflakpui with 10 points on 5-of-5 shooting from the field.
> Sophomore J.P. Moorman II dished a career-high five assists while scoring four points and tying for team-high honors with six rebounds.

First Half
> Temple exploded from the get go, opening with a 16-0 run over the first three minutes and 20 seconds. Five different players scored in the run, led by Rose with four points.
> Loyola Maryland got its first bucket at 16:26 and kept it even from there, with Temple only leading by as many as 17 points at 13:32.
> With a 15-6 run, the Greyhounds narrowed the margin to six points, 30-24 with 7:22 left, but would get no closer.
> The Owls got their lead back to double digits a few times down the stretch, and a three-pointer by Alston at 1:49 was the last bucket of the period which put Temple up by 12 at halftime, 45-33.

Second Half
> After Alston hit a trey for a 12-point lead at the 18:36 mark of the second half, the Owls led by at least 10 points the rest of the way.
> With another Alston three-pointer followed by an Aflakpui dunk at 4:12, the Owls achieved their largest lead of 18 points, 74-56.
> The Greyhounds then used an 11-3 run to make it a 10-point game with a minute and 45 seconds to go, but Alani Moore II and Pierre-Louis each hit a pair of free throws in the remaining time to seal the win.
