Moorman II Named AAC Rookie of the Week; Rose Selected to Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - After a 2-0 week for Temple men's basketball, who has won five straight, two Owls are being honored by the American Athletic Conference. Freshman J.P. Moorman II has been named Rookie of the Week for the first time in his career, while sophomore Quinton Rose was selected to the Weekly Honor Roll.
Moorman recorded his first career double-double with a career-high 11 points to go with a career-high 12 rebounds in the Owls' 90-73 win vs. ECU on Feb. 7. His points-rebounds double-double was the first by a Temple freshman since Lavoy Allen in the 2008 NCAA Tournament. Later in the week, Moorman scored five points and added four rebounds in just 10 minutes of action in the Owls' 73-55 win at USF on Feb. 10.
For the week, Moorman averaged eight points and eight rebounds per game and shot 46.2 percent from the field including 50 percent from three-point range (2-of-4).
Rose led Temple with a game-high 23 points in the ECU win, and followed it up with a game-high 20 points at USF. He shot 48.5 percent from the field for the week (16-of-33), and averaged six rebounds per game to go with his 21.5 points per game. At USF, Rose also recorded a game-high four steals to tie for the most by an Owl this season.
