Golf in 15th Place after Day One of Cleveland Palmetto Intercollegiate

AIKEN, S.C.  – Temple Golf opened the spring portion of its schedule at the 21st Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate.   The Owls sit in 15th place among the 18 teams competing at the event being held at the par-70, 6,617-yard Palmetto Golf Club.

Tournament Notes
> Freshman Dawson Anders led the Owls over the first 36 holes, shooting a one-under par 139 for the day to tie for 21st overall among the 90 player field. 
>Anders had the best round by any Temple golfer, carding a five-under 65 for his second round. The 65 was a collegiate best for the Temple freshman and the second best round of the day.
> John Barone, who shot an even-par 70 for his opening round, and finished four-over for the day to tie for 42nd on the day.
> Trey Wren was third for Temple and tied for 60th overall with an eight-over 148 while Liam McGrath rounded out the Owl scorers with a 10-over 170 to tie for 68th overall.
> Virginia leads the field by three shots over Augusta and and six over host USC-Aiken.  
> Augusta's Brock Everett (-7) holds a one-stroke lead over Furman's Keller Harper.
> The tournament concludes with a single round Tuesday.
