ORLANDO - Holding off a late surge by Tulane (14-17), Temple men's basketball won 82-77 to advance to the Aaron's American Athletic Conference Championships quarterfinals against #11/14 Wichita State. > The contest was a back-and-forth one the rest of the way, but back-to-back Cameron Reynolds three-pointers put Tulane within one, 78-77 with 32 seconds to go.
> Alston made a pair of free throws, and the Green Wave missed their final attempt from long range with five seconds left. They fouled Brown just before the buzzer, who sank 2-of-2 for the final score.

Quotable
> "I thought Tulane gave us a great effort, and I thought the difference in the game was the amount of times we got to the foul line. We drove it well, we pressed the issue a little bit. We had talked about it, but obviously it opened up for us a little bit tonight. Big shots were made. J.P. Moorman made some, Shizz Alston had a couple big foul shots down the stretch. The last piece would be turning the ball over just six times which is something we take a lot of pride in but it doesn't always happen that way. We're thrilled to be moving on." - Temple head coach Fran Dunphy
