LANCASTER, Pa. - Three Temple field hockey student-athletes are among those who have received an offficial invitation to attend the 2018 Young Women's National Championship (YWNC). Rising senior Nellie Doyle and rising sophomores Taylor Alba, Dani Batze will participate in the event from June 25-29 at Spooky Nook Sports in Lancaster.

"Nellie, Dani and Taylor have done an exceptional job in exhibiting their skill sets under pressure and placed focus on showcasing their knowledge of the game," said Temple head coach Marybeth Freeman. "We're excited for them to compete against and alongside their peers in such a high level tournament. I'm very proud of each of them for putting themselves in position to grow as students of the game."

The Young Women's National Championship serves as a high-level, international structured competition which is a selection avenue to Junior National Camp and an opportunity for selection to the 2018-19 U.S. U-21 Women's National Team and U.S. Women's National Development Team.

Doyle, a standout in the backfield for the Owls, is one of the team's tri-captains for next season. Both Alba (a midifielder) and Batze (a back) had impressive freshman campaigns, earning starting roles and making a huge impact in their respective positions.
