PHILADELPHIA - Obi Enechionyia, a standout on the Temple men's basketball team the past four seasons, has signed a contract to play for Real Betis Energía Plus, which plays in Spain's LEB Oro professional league. Enechionyia had played with the Detroit Pistons in the NBA Summer League this past summer.

A 6-10 forward, Enechionyia led Temple in rebounding (5.8 rpg) and blocked shots (46) as a senior in 2017-18 and finished his career with 614 rebounds and 170 blocks to place 23rd and seventh, respectively, on the Owls' all-time lists. He also was third on the team in scoring (10.8 rpg) and his 1,296 points put him at 33rd on Temple's all-time scoring list.

The 2018 American Athletic Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year, Enechionyia became the eighth Temple player to make 200 three-pointers during his career (200-546, .368). The Springfield, Va. native earned MVP honors from the 2017 Gildan Charleston Classic as well as the 2016 NIT Season Tip-Off, leading the Owls to the championship of both tournaments.  He also earned Second Team All-Philadelphia Big 5 honors for the 2016-17 campaign.
