9.19.18 | Men's Basketball

PHILADELPHIA – In coordination with the American Athletic Conference, Temple men's basketball released its conference schedule, completing its full slate of 31 games for the 2018-19 season.  The team's non-conference schedule had been released over the summer.

Twenty-five of the program's 31 games will be televised with Temple appearing on ESPN entities 18 times and five other contests broadcast by CBS Sports Network.  The Owls are also slated for one appearance each on NBC Sports Network and FS1.  Television negotiations for the remaining seven contests are ongoing with most expected to be broadcast.

"The American Athletic Conference continues to be one of the top basketball leagues in the country and, coupled with tough non-conference contests, it makes for a challenging schedule," said Temple head coach Fran Dunphy.  "We are excited about the season ahead and competing against some of the nation's premier programs."

The Owls open AAC play on the road with back-to-back games against UCF (Jan. 2) and Wichita State (Jan. 6).  The team's first conference game at the Liacouras Center is Jan. 9 versus Houston which starts a stretch of four of five home league games.  That stretch includes home AAC games with USF (Jan. 12), Memphis (Jan. 24) and Cincinnati (Jan. 27).  The Cherry and White also play their final non-conference home game against Penn (Jan. 19) in that 18-day period with the one road contest being at ECU (Jan. 16).

January concludes for the Owls with a two-game road trip to Houston (Jan. 31) and Tulane (Feb. 2).

The remainder of the season does not have Temple playing consecutive games at home or on the road.  The Owls are home against UConn (Feb. 6), SMU (Feb. 13), Tulsa (Feb. 23), Tulane (Mar. 3) and UCF (Mar. 9).  The team's road games are evenly dispersed with Tulsa (Feb. 9), USF (Feb. 16), Memphis (Feb. 26) and UConn (Mar. 7).

The 2019 American Athletic Conference Championship will be held at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tenn. from March 14-17.
