Nate Pierre-Louis Named AAC and Big 5 Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - Sophomore guard Nate Pierre-Louis was named the American Athletic Conference and Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending January 13.  It is his first player of the week honor of his career.

Pierre-Louis continued his stellar play of late, averaging 20 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, two steals and two blocks in 2-0 week for the Owls. The Plainfield, N.J. native scored 18 points (4-8 FG, 9-10 FTs) and had four rebounds in 73-69 win over previously unbeaten #17/15 Houston (Jan. 9). He followed that performance with a game-high 22 points (6-10, 8-8 FTs) in an 82-80 OT win over USF (Jan. 12). The 6-4 guard scored six of his season-high tying output in the extra period as well as making two of his career-high three blocks.

For the season, Pierre-Louis, who has scored 20 or more points in four of the last five games, is averaging 14.1 points and 6.1 rebounds while shooting 50.6 percent from the field.  

Temple (13-3, 3-1 AAC) takes its three-game win streak on the road for a Wednesday night game at ECU (7 pm/ESPN3/1210 AM WPHT).
