Women’s Basketball Welcomes No. 4 UConn For First Conference Game of the Season

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple women's basketball welcomes No. 4 Connecticut to the Liacouras Center for the first conference game of the year on Sunday Nov. 17 at 1 p.m.
THE OWLS
> Temple enters their first conference game of the season with a 3-1 record. The Owls topped Fairfield, Duquesne and Xavier at home while falling to St. Joseph's on the road.
> Mia Davis averages a double-double to lead the Cherry and White with 22.8 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.
> Ashley Jones leads the Owls with 6.5 assists per game while adding 18.3 points per contest. The redshirt sophomore currently leads the team with her 86.7% from the free throw line.
> Marissa Mackins leads Temple from beyond the arc, knocking down 14 threes to rank second in the conference. The Durham, N.C. native is the third Owl to average double-digit points with 14.8.
> Freshman Asonah Alexander falls right behind Jones with 20 assists on the season. Alexander has been a spark off the bench, adding 4.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.
LAST TIME OUT: Temple 78, Xavier 65
> Temple went on a 17-0 run late in the fourth quarter to finally push past the Musketeers and record their third win of the season.
> The Owls outshot Xavier 43.5% to 38.7% from the field.

> The Huskies won the 2019 American Athletic Conference Championships to improve to 120-0 against conference opponents. UConn went on to compete in their 12th straight Final Four before falling to No. 3 Notre Dame in the national semifinal.
> Crystal Dangerfield, Christyn Williams, Megan Walker and Olivia Nelson-Ododa were each named to award watch lists for their positions: Dangerfield to the Nancy Lieberman Award (top point guard); Williams to the Ann Meyers Drysdale (top shooting guard); Walker to the Cheryl Miller Award (top small forward); and Nelson-Ododa to the Lisa Leslie Award (top center).
> Walker currently leads the Huskies with 23 points per game followed by Williams with 18.5.
