Gymnastics Ties Floor Program Record and Posts 194.85 on Alumni Night

PHILADELPHIA—Temple women's gymnastics (10-14, 1-1 ECAC) ended its Alumni Night meet in style, tying the floor program record and posting its second-best score of the season. The Owls scored a 194.85 to take second place. Maryland took first with a 195.975, West Chester was third with a 191.425 and SCSU finished fourth with a 191.375.
Vault
> The Owls started off the competition on vault, posting a 48.5.
> The juniors shined on this event, with Daisy Todd and Jazmyn Estrella each scoring a 9.7 and Jaylene Everett earning a 9.75.
Bars
> Temple recorded a 48.5 in its second rotation of the night.
> Sophomore Monica Servidio was strong on bars for the Owls, scoring a 9.7. Estrella built on her great start from vault, anchoring the squad with a 9.75.
> Freshman Ariana Castrence posted the team-high in the event, earning an impressive 9.775.
Beam
> The team competed on beam in the third rotation, scoring a 48.55.
> Castrence and sophomore Jordyn Oster were stellar, scoring a 9.7 and 9.725, respectively.
> Servidio rounded out the lineup in outstanding fashion, posting a 9.85 to earn second place in the event.
Floor
> The Owls were nothing short of spectacular on their final event of the evening, tying the floor program record with a 49.3.
> Servidio posted a huge 9.775 to wrap up her strong all-around performance.
> Three Owls posted a 9.85 on floor: Castrence and sophomores Erica Fuchs and Tori Edwards. Fuchs and Castrence both earned career-bests and Edwards tied her season-best in the event.
> Everett and senior India Anderson both put on dazzling routines, each earning a 9.875. This was a season-best for Everett and the second-highest score of the season for Anderson. They tied with Maryland's Sabriyya Rouse for first place in the event.
All-Around
> Castrence and Servidio competed in the all-around for the Owls. Servidio took second place with a 39.000 and Castrence was third with a 38.95.

> "Floor was exceptional tonight," said head coach Josh Nilson. "I couldn't have asked for more from the team heading into senior day on Sunday. Tying the school record is a big payoff for all the hard work these ladies have put in this season. Tonight was a team effort, and I am very proud of them! We are excited and ready to see our seniors off Sunday with a bang!"
