PHILADELPHIA - Brady Welsh has been named the Director of Men's Basketball Sports Performance at Temple University, announced men's basketball head coach Aaron McKie.
Welsh comes to Temple from the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. where he spent the past two years as a Physical Strength & Conditioning Coach, responsible for the programming, delivery and scheduling for all 14 of the academy's basketball teams.
"We are excited to welcome Brady to the Temple Basketball Family," said McKie. "Brady has accumulated a wealth of experience in a short time, and fits with our overall philosophy on strength and conditioning. I believe he will help make our young men physically stronger which will increase our toughness on the court."
Prior to his time at IMG, Welsh spent a year as an assistant strength & conditioning coach at the University of Illinois. He worked with the men's and women's tennis teams while also assisting with the men's and women's basketball teams. In 2014-15, Welsh was a strength & conditioning coach at Lincoln Trail College.
"I want to thank Coach McKie for this incredible opportunity to be a part of his staff," said Welsh. "I look forward to locking arms with the staff and doing my best to help us reach our full potential."
Welsh earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science from Eastern Illinois University in 2015. He has been a National Strength & Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since 2015.
