Men's Basketball Signs Josh Pierre-Louis to Athletics Aid Agreement

PHILADELPHIA -- For the first time in Temple men's basketball history, two brothers will be on the same roster as Josh Pierre-Louis, brother of rising junior Nate Pierre-Louis, has signed an athletics aid agreement with the Owls.

"We are thrilled to welcome Josh to the Temple Basketball Family," said Owls' head coach Aaron McKie. "Josh is a highly-skilled athlete with tremendous upside and plays with a high-level of energy.  He is also an outstanding young man who comes from a wonderful family.  We are looking forward to him being an integral part of our program for the next four years."

A 6-3, 180-pound guard out of Roselle (N.J.) Catholic, Pierre-Louis had an impressive senior campaign for the Lions who ended the season 28-4 and ranked #17 in the nation by USA Today.  He averaged 14.2 points and 3.4 assists per game in leading his team to the North Jersey non-Public B title and advanced to the state final before falling to Tournament of Champions winner Ranney, 56-50.

Like his brother, Pierre-Louis is known for his strong defensive play and his overall toughness.  He played in the non-Public B championship game despite suffering a fractured hand in the previous game and had to be taken off by stretcher in the loss to Ranney after suffering a concussion.

As a junior, the Plainfield, N.J. native averaged seven points and six assists per game in helping his school to the state championship. Roselle finished the 2017-18 season with a 27-4 record and a No. 10 national ranking.

Pierre-Louis joins incoming freshman Damion Dunn, a 6-4 guard from Meadowcreek (Ga.) High in Temple's 2023 recruiting class.
