1.6.20 | Women's Basketball

PHILADELPHIA – Sophomore guard Marissa Mackins was named the Big 5 Player of the Week and earned a spot on the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll after posting two 20-digit performances as the Owls finished the week with a pair of wins.

Mackins averaged 26.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals across two victories for Temple to earn the Big 5 Player of the Week title. The sophomore poured in a career-high 28 points at La Salle, where she made a career-best seven three-pointers. Mackins' 25-point effort at Tulsa landed her a spot on the conference's weekly honor roll. The guard hit five shots from beyond the arc, three of which came in the fourth quarter to help send the game into overtime and allow Temple to walk away with their first win of the New Year.

Next up, Temple heads to Texas to play Houston on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 8 p.m. as they look to win their second-straight conference matchup.
