2.11.20 | Women's Gymnastics

PHILADELPHIA—The Cherry and White will continue their road stretch this Saturday as they head to Bowling Green to take on the Falcons and Illinois State in a tri-meet matchup. The competition is slated to begin at 2 p.m. in Bowling Green's Anderson Arena.

The Owls
> The Owls are led by head coach Josh Nilson, who is in his second season leading the Cherry and White.
> Last time out, Temple earned a win in its first ECAC matchup of the season on Sunday afternoon as the Owls came out on top against Penn, 193.675-193.325. The Cherry and White scored a season-high on bars, earned the individual titles on all four events and Estrella tied the program record on bars.
> The Owls had their best performance on vault last meet, posting their second-highest mark of the season with a 48.825. Estrella and fellow senior Jaylene Everett were outstanding for the Cherry and White, scoring season-highs of 9.7 and 9.775, respectively. Freshman Madi Brooks and sophomore Ariana Castrence continued their excellence on vault. Brooks tied her career-high that she set in last week's competition with a 9.825 and Castrence tied her season-high with a 9.85. The Owls swept the podium on vault, as Everett was third, Brooks took second and Castrence earned the title.
> Castrence, Garin and Leary all hold place in the top three of the ECAC individual rankings. Garin ranks third in the conference on beam, while Leary is second on vault and first on floor. Castrence owns the top spot on vault, beam and in the all-around.
> Estrella was named the ECAC Gymnast of the Week following her standout performance at Penn. The senior captain scored a season-high 9.7 on vault and a 9.575 on beam. Estrella was spectacular on bars, as her routine earned her a 9.9 and the event title. This mark ties Temple's program record on the event and she is just the fourth Owl in history to earn a 9.9 on bars.

Scouting Bowling Green
> Bowling Green is led by head coach Kerrie Turner, who has spent 13 seasons at the helm of the Falcons.

> The team scored a 48.7 on vault, 48.025 on bars, 48.775 on beam and 48.475 on floor.
> The Owls and the Falcons have met once before in 1999. Bowling Green emerged victorious in this matchup.
