Men's Basketball Drops Thriller to Wichita State

WICHITA, Kan. - The Temple men's basketball team fell in a 72-69 thriller at Wichita State Thursday night, splitting the season's series. With the loss, the team falls to 14-14 (6-9 AAC) while the Shockers improve to 21-7 (9-6 AAC).
Game Summary
> Quinton Rose's 20 points put him ahead of All-American Terrence Stansbury to sit sixth on the Temple all-time scoring with 1,813 points, and tied his season-high in steals with five.
> Monty Scott added 14 points for his fifth double figure scoring game in the last six outings.
> The game remained close throughout, seeing 14 lead changes, eight ties, and neither team leading by more than seven.

> Another Temple run would give them team a seven-point lead, forcing a WSU drought and three turnovers.
> A Shocker trey would cut their deficit to four with 3:33 left in the game, retaking the lead on a pair of foul shots from Jamarius Burton to cap an 11-1 run.
> Both teams would trade free throws to close the game, but the Owls couldn't close the gap as time expired.
