Men’s Basketball Announces Three Signings

PHILADELPHIA – Temple men's basketball head coach Aaron McKie announced the signing of three student-athletes, two transfers and one incoming freshman, for the 2020-21 season.

Nick Jourdain,  a 6-8, 205-pound forward out of Covenant College Prep and Immaculate Conception High, has signed a National Letter of Intent while Khalif Battle, a 6-5, 175-pound guard, and Sage Tolbert, a 6-8, 210-pound forward, will sign aid agreements.  Battle, who played at Butler last season, will have three seasons of eligibility remaining starting in 2020-21, while Tolbert, who saw action in two seasons at Southeast Missouri State, will have two seasons remaining.

"I would like to welcome Khalif, Nick and Sage to the Temple Family," said head coach Aaron McKie.  "These three young men will fit into our program extremely well.  They are well rounded basketball player as well as students.  They possess tremendous work ethics and buy into our philosophy on and off the court." 

Jourdain, who earned all-tournament accolades at the National Prep School Invitational, averaged 19 points, 11 rebounds, three steals and three blocks per game in his one season at Covenant.  The Clifton, N.J. native played his high school ball at Immaculate Conception High in Montclair, N.J.

Battle saw action in 24 games, averaging 11 minutes and three points per game as a freshman at Butler.  He posted double-figures in two games with a season-high of 11 points in the season-opening win over IUPUI.  A four-star recruit out of Trenton Catholic, the Edison, N.J. native averaged 23.7 points per game as a senior and was ranked as the nation's 82nd best prospect by ESPN.com.

Tolbert, a two-year starter for the Redhawks, averaged 9.6 points and team-high 7.0 rebounds as a sophomore in 2019-20.  The Richmond, Texas native tallied double figures 14 times and recorded four double-doubles.  His best outing came at Eastern Kentucky when he reached career highs of 19 points and 17 rebounds.  

The trio joins Quincy Ademokoya, a 6-6, 185-pound guard out of Norcross (Ga.) High, and Jahlil White, a 6-7, 180-pound guard out of Wildwood (N.J.) Catholic, who signed National Letters of Intent in Nov. 2019.
