Clinton Named Big 5 Player of the Week, Earns AAC Honor Roll

PHILADELPHIA – Freshman guard Jasha Clinton was named the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week for the first time in her career. The rookie also earned a spot on the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the third-straight week.

Clinton finished the 1-1 week for the Owls averaging 17.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 2.0 assists, while shooting 56% (14-25) from the floor and 44.4% (4-9) from three-point range. At Houston, the rookie registered a team-high 14 points with a career-best six steals. In the win over Wichita State, Clinton shot 61.5% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc as she led Temple with a game-high 21 points. She added three rebounds, three assists and a steal to her stat line in the win. 

Up next, the Owls will face #13 USF on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 4 p.m. in Tampa, Fla.
