McGrath Tied for 5th after Day Two of Visit Stockton Invitational

Stockton, Calif. – A little rain delay did not bother Temple golfer Conor McGrath Tuesday. The Owl standout shot a four-under 67 for the round to improve to seven-under for tournament to tie fifth overall at the Visit Stockton Invitational Friday. As a team, the Temple was two-over for the day and is 12th among the 15-team field with one round to play Saturday.
Recapping Day Two
> McGrath had five birdies and one bogey in posting his ninth round in the 60s for the season. He is one shot back of third place and six behind the leader, Utah's Javier Barcos (-13).
> Graham Chase joined McGrath in the 60s, posting a two-under 69. Chase had six birdies on the day, including four in his first seven holes, but three consecutive bogeys on the back nine prevented him from an even better round. He currently sits tied for 41st among the 90-player field at even par.
> The remaining three Owls, Buddy Hansen, Ethan Whitney and Dawson Anders, all shot four-over 75s. Hansen, in his first start of the season, is six-over for the tournament and tied for 70th. Whitney is tied for 80th (+9) and Anders is tied for 87th (+13).
The Field
> Washington State continues to lead the field with a 26-under 542. The Cougars are four shots better than San Diego State (546) and five better than BYU (547).
Quotable: Head Coach Brian Quinn
> "Really happy how Conor played. He birdied two of the last three holes and did that despite being sick. He fought through it and played well. Graham also played great today too. Those two guys put us in a position to have a good day, but unfortunately the other guys did not turn it on. Hopefully it will all come together tomorrow."

> Temple is paired with Dixie State and CSU-Northridge and will tee off Saturday at 12:15 pm (ET) from hole 10.
