Field Hockey Falls in Regular Season Finale

PHILADELPHIA - In its final game of the regular season, the Temple field hockey team fell 2-0 at Penn Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Owls fall to 8-10 (4-3 BIG EAST) and the Quakers improve to 8-7 (4-2 Ivy League).
Recapping the Game
> Temple's best chance to score in the first quarter came late in the frame, with a shot from Kerrie Lorenz on a penalty corner attempt being blocked by the Quakers.
> Penn scored the first goal of the day with less than five minutes left in the second quarter, finding the back of the net off a rebounded save.
> The Quakers scored the go-ahead goal midway through the second quarter, slipping past the Cherry and White defense to go up 2-0.
> Tess Muller fired a shot with less than a minute left in the game, but the Penn goalie made the save to keep the Owls off the board.
Statistically Speaking
> Temple had the edge in shots (7-6) and penalty corners (4-1), but Penn put five shots on target to the Owls' three.
> Claire Thomas and Grace Angelella led the team in shots with two each, both putting one on frame.
> Megan Ragusa posted three saves.
