Khalif Battle Named to Weekly Honor Rolls

PHILADELPHIA – Sophomore guard Khalif Battle was named to both the American Athletic Conference and the Philadelphia Big 5 Honor Rolls for his play in the opening week of college basketball.
Battle, who led Temple in scoring last season (15.0 ppg), picked up right where he left off with game-highs in both Owl contests. He scored 22 points on nine-of-14 shooting from the floor (3-7 3pt) and grabbed six rebounds in a 72-49 win over Maryland Eastern Shore (11/10). He followed that with 26 points (8-17, 5-9) and grabbed five board in a 76-71 loss to USC (11/13). His 24 ppg ranks second in the AAC.
The Owls (1-1) next take on Clemson (2-0) Thursday afternoon (4/4:30 – ESPN2/1210 AM WPHT) at the Shriners Children's Charleston Classic.
