PHILADELPHIA - Temple women's basketball returns home to McGonigle Hall to take on in-city rival Saint Joseph's in a Big 5 battle on Dec. 11 at 12:00pm. The game is scheduled to air on ESPN+.

LAST GAME
> In their last time out, the Owls managed to win their third game in a row over the Duquesne Dukes, 67-55.
> Down by one point with a few second left in the third quarter, Jasha Clinton drained a three-point basket to give the Owls the lead heading into the final period. From there, the Owls capitalized on the opportunity, holding the lead for the rest of the contest.
> Mia Davis led the team with a game-high 22 points and eight rebounds.
> Aniya Gourdine stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points, seven assists, seven rebounds, and five steals.
> Jalynn Holmes tacked on 11 points.

THE OWLS
> The Owls are coming off three consecutive road wins against Georgetown, Villanova, and Duquesne.  During that stretch, the Owls have trailed by double-digits in all three games and have managed to comeback to win.
> Temple is led by Davis, this week's American Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Over the course of the season, Davis has averaged 16.3 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game to lead the team in both categories.
> Senior Alexa Williamson and Clinton, last year's AAC Freshman of the Year, chip in with 11.0 and 6.0 points per game, respectively.
> Gourdine has quickly transitioned into a regular contributor for the Owls. Gourdine averages 6.3 points per game, 4.3 rebounds per game, and leads the team with 1.8 steals per game.

SCOUTING SAINT JOSEPH'S
> After starting the season 1-6, the Hawks have rebounded to win two straight games entering Saturday's contest.
> Saint Joseph's is led by guards Kaliah Henderson and Katie Jekot. Henderson and Jekot average 10.8 and 9.8 point per game, respectively.
> The Hawks have a plethora of scorers as five players average seven or more points per game fo St. Joe's.

LAST TIME THEY MET
> The last time that Temple met Saint Joseph's was back in 2019 when the Owls lost a close game to the Hawks by a score of 67-63.
> Down by a few points in the final moments of the game, buckets from Shantay Taylor, Davis, and Marissa Mackins drew the Owls near, but good free throw shooting from the Hawks won the game for St. Joe's
> Davis played all 40 minutes for the Owls while scoring 29 points on 8-18 shooting from the field and 12-16 from the free throw line.
> Ashley Jones was the only other Owl to score in double-figures, scoring 16 points while grabbing seven rebounds and three steals.

UP NEXT
> The Cherry & White take a trip to the Midwest to take on the Northwestern Wildcats on Dec. 17 at 8:00pm.
