12.6.21 | Men's Basketball

PHILADELPHIA - Damian Dunn, who scored a career-high 27 points to lead Temple to an 81-72 win over Penn on Saturday, has been named co-Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending December 5.  He shares the honor with Villanova guard Collin Gillespie.

For the week, Dunn averaged 21.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals in helping Temple post Big 5 wins over La Salle and Penn. He shot 16-for-26 from field (.614), two-for-five 3-pt (.400) and nine-for-12 from the line (.750).  Besides the 27 points, which was in the Owls' first game playing without American Athletic Conference's leading scorer Khalif Battle, he also tallied 16 points and grabbed six rebounds in the win over La Salle (12/1).

For the year, he is averaging 13.0 points and leads the team (3rd in AAC) in free throw percentage (28-34, .824).   It is the second Big 5 Player of the Week honor of his career.

Dunn was also named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll for his performance.

Temple (5-3) next plays at Vanderbilt (8 pm ET/SEC Network+/1210 AM WPHT).
