Williams Named AAC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - Temple men's basketball freshman guard Jeremiah Williams has been named the American Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the week ending Feb. 14.
It is Williams' first AAC honor of the season and he joins teammate Damian Dunn, who has been named AAC Rookie of the Week three times, in earning the honor this season.
Williams, a 6-5 point guard from Chicago (Simeon HS), scored a career-high 16 points in the Owls' 71-69 loss at Cincinnati on Feb. 12. He made seven-of-11 shots while dishing four assists and making two steals. It is his third straight double-figure scoring game and sixth overall.
For the season, Williams leads Temple and ranks fourth in the AAC in assists (4.3). He also leads the Owls in steals (15) and ranks fourth in scoring (9.0 ppg).
Temple (4-8, 3-8 AAC) next plays at Tulsa (9-7, 6-7) on Tuesday (7 pm ET/ESPNU/1210 AM WPHT).
