2.20.21 | Women's Track and Field
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Four members of the Temple track and field team competed at the two-day Camel City Invitational event in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Meet Highlights
> On Friday evening, the quartet of Helene Gottlieb, Lea Kerbiriou, Alanna Lally and Marissa White competed in the DMR event, where they finished sixth with a time of 11:24.55. This mark places the DMR squad at 16th in the country.
> In the 800m Elite Finals, Lally had the best indoor performance of the season as she crossed the finish line at 2:05.88 for third-place. She was the top collegian in the event as she finished behind two professional runners. Lally's time places her at 12th nationally.
> Both Kerbiriou and Gottlieb raced in the 800m Finals Section 1 event, finishing third and fourth, respectively.
From the Coach
> "Alanna's race was the highlight of the day," expressed assistant track and field coach James Snyder. "It should put her right around 12th or 13th on the national-best list, so we're very excited about that."
> "Helene and Lea raced well in the 800m. It was the fastest Helene has ever opened up for an 800m race."
> "It was great to have this competitive opportunity. The DMR didn't go as well as we had hoped, but it will still end up being about the second-fastest time we have run."
