Field Hockey to Face Big 5 Rival Villanova

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple field hockey team will look to snap its four-game losing streak with a home-and-home series against Villanova, playing in Conshohocken, Pa. on Saturday and at Howarth Field on Sunday. This will be the first of two home-and-home series against the Wildcats this season.
Scouting Temple
> The Owls are 1-4 on the season following two close losses at Old Dominion and two against Liberty.
> Temple dropped both games against the Monarchs by one goal, forcing a shootout in the first game after tying it 2-2 early in the fourth quarter, while falling 2-0 to Liberty in both games. The Owls held the Flames to a season-low in goals in both games.
> Graduate student Veronika Novakova leads the team with two goals, scoring the game-winner in the season opener and the game-tying goal against ODU.
> Dani Batze, Claire Thomas, and Kerrie Lorenz lead the team in shots with six each.
