Men's Soccer Hosts Manhattan To Open Home Slate

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple men's soccer team (0-0-2, 0-0-0 AAC) will open their home slate tomorrow as they host the Manhattan Jaspers (1-1-0, 0-0-0 MAAC). The 3:00 p.m. match will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
THE OWL POST
>Â Temple played Big Ten opponent Rutgers to a 0-0 draw Monday. This was their second straight draw to start the season. This is the first time Temple has had back-to-back scoreless draws since 1955.
> The Owls have now played in five-straight overtime games dating back to last season.
>Â To say goalkeeper Eoin Gawronski has been a star this season would be underselling his play. Gawronski has arguably been the most impactful player in college soccer this season. The keeper has made two match-saving penalty kick stops in overtime in back-to-back games. He is believed to be the first goalkeeper in NCAA history to achieve this feat.
> This match marks the beginning of a four-game homestand, the longest for the Owls since 2016. That homestand turned into four wins for Temple, and also began with a match against Manhattan.

> The Jaspers posted a 2-4 record in 2020-21, placing ninth in the MAAC.
> Manhattan returns two of its four-goal scorers from last season. Brandon Joseph-Buadi led the team in goals last season with two.
> Jorden Scott is in his eighth season patrolling the bench for the Jaspers. Scott has put together a 43-74-12 record with the program. Scott has seen success with Manhattan, leading the 2018 iteration of the squad to a program-record 12 wins.
