2021-22 Men's Basketball Schedule Released

PHILADELPHIA - With the release of the American Athletic Conference schedule, Temple men's basketball has completed its full slate of games for the 2021-22 season. The 31-game slate is highlighted by 13 non-conference games, including the Shriners Children's Charleston Classic, and nine of 18 American Conference games to be played at home.
The schedule features a minimum of 14 nationally televised linear games, including 13 on ESPN platforms. All American Athletic Conference games as well as all Temple home non-conference games not broadcast on linear TV will be available on ESPN+.
"We are really happy with the balance of this schedule as it is features non-conference games against USC and Vanderbilt, a challenging tournament in Charleston, and a local flavor with our Big Five rivals and area teams like Delaware and Drexel," said Temple head coach Aaron McKie. "It is the perfect blend to prepare our program for success this season."
The Owls will open the 2021-22 season with a pair of home games against UMES (Nov. 10) and USC (Nov. 13) before heading to Charleston, S.C. to face Clemson in the opening round of the Charleston Classic on Nov. 18. The final two games of the tournament are set for Nov. 19 and 21, with Temple to face either St. Bonaventure or Boise State in the second round.
The Cherry and White will return to North Broad for a three-game homestand, closing November play against Delaware and opening December play against Big 5 opponents La Salle (Dec. 1) and Penn (Dec. 4). The Owls will head to Music City to face Vanderbilt on Dec. 7 before returning to Philly to face Saint Joseph's at Hagan Arena (Dec. 11).
American Athletic Conference play will open against UCF on Dec. 15, with the Owls closing out their non-conference slate against Drexel (Dec. 18), Delaware State (Dec. 22), and Villanova (Dec. 29). Temple will begin the New Year with its second conference matchup, hosting Houston on Jan. 2.
The Owls will play an alternating home/away schedule for the next three weeks, traveling to UCF (Jan. 5), Tulsa (Jan. 12), and USF (Jan. 22) while hosting ECU (Jan. 8), Wichita State (Jan. 19), and Cincinnati (Jan. 25). The team will close out January play at SMU, remaining on the road to face ECU on Feb. 2.
Tulsa will come to the City of Brotherly Love on Feb. 5 before the Owls head to the Big Easy on Feb. 12 to face Tulane. Temple will host SMU on Feb. 16, hitting the road for a pair of games at Cincinnati (Feb. 20) and Memphis (Feb. 24). Two of the final three games of the season will be at home, with the Owls hosting Tulane (Feb. 27) before closing their road slate at Houston on March 3 and hosting USF on March 6 to close out the regular season.
Temple will close the season at the 2022 American Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Championship on March 10-13 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
