PHILADELPHIA – Zion Stanford, a 6-5, 195-pound guard, has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Temple University, announced the Owls' head men's basketball coach Aaron McKie.

"We are happy to welcome Zion to the Temple basketball family," said McKie. "He is a talented young man from a wonderful family.  His size and skill makes him a great fit for our program."

Stanford, a second team all-State and first team all-Philadelphia Catholic League player at West Catholic High, helped lead his team to 21-6 overall record, the semifinals of the PCL and the quarterfinals of the PIAA Class 3A.  He averaged 14.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game during the 2021-22 season.  He also shot 59.6 percent from the field and 36.7 percent from three-point range.
