Women's Track & Field to Open Season at Youree Spence Garcia Meet

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple women's track and field team will open the 2022-23 indoor season this Saturday. The Owls head to Queens to compete in the Youree Spence-Garcia Meet. The meet will begin at 4 p.m. and continue rolling till 7 p.m.
 
About the Youree Spence-Garcia Meet
> Tannekee Strachan, Fiona Carter, Allyson Metzger, and Sophia Gulotti will be representing the Cherry and White in the Long Jump.
> Strachan will be competing the Triple Jump. She will be looking to build off last year where she set the program triple jump record.
> Nicole Castor and Amira Green will compete in the High Jump.
> Isatu Shirek, Carter, and Gulotti will run in the 60m high-hurdles. While four Owls will run in the 60 meter dash.
> Marissa White and Kwanda Knight will represent Temple in the 500m. White returns after qualifying for NCAA Regionals last season.
> Eight Owls will be running in the 300m, while six will be competing in the 200m, and eight will running the 4x400m relay.

"We have a style of training we are trying this year and we are very excited to see how it will be on our performances this week. Overall, I am excited to get over the monotony of just training against ourselves everyday and see where are athletes are and see what our freshmen have."
