Women's Basketball Ventures to Tulsa for Saturday Clash

TULSA, Okla. - After the end of a three-game home stretch, the Temple women's basketball team travels to Oklahoma to take on the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 2:00pm EST. The game is scheduled to air on ESPN+.

LAST GAME
> The Owls suffered their second loss this season against the South Florida Bulls on Wednesday night as USF completed the season sweep. 
> Both teams struggled offensively, as the Bulls shot 31.1% and the Owls shot 29% from the field. 
> Having clawed back from an 11-point deficit at halftime, the Owls found themselves within three with just over two minutes to play. However, a scoring drought for the remainder of the game kept TU off the scoreboard to give the Bulls the win.
> Mia Davis: game-high 14 points and seven rebounds
> Aniya Gourdine: eight points
> Kyra Wood: six points and 11 rebounds

THE OWLS
> The Owls come into this weekend's matchup looking to bounce back after one of their worst shooting performances of the season against South Florida.
> Davis leads the way for the Owls as her Temple career slowly draws to a close. Davis leads the team in points per game and rebounds per game. Davis has been averaging 20.6 points per game in conference play.
> This matchup features the two AAC Co-Freshman of the Week as Gourdine and Tulsa's Temira Poindexter face off.
> Wood has started the past two games for the Owls due to the injury of Alexa Williamson. Over the course of the past two games, Wood has averaged 11 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game in 58 total minutes played.

SCOUTING TULSA
> The Golden Hurricane come into Saturday's matchup ranked sixth in the American Athletic Conference.
> Tulsa is led by sisters Maya and Wyvette Mayberry. Wyvette leads the team with 14.1 points per game while Maya follows closely behind at 13.7 points per game.
> The Golden Hurricane have one of the best freshman in the AAC as Poindexter averages 12.4 points per game while leading the team with 5.0 rebounds per game.

LAST TIME THEY MET
> Davis and Alexa Williamson each registered double-doubles as the Temple women's basketball team defeated Tulsa 68-46 at the Reynolds Center on Feb. 17, 2021.
> Temple had one of their best shooting games of the season, recording a 50.9 field goal percentage and a 33.3 three-point percentage. 
> The Owls scored 42 points in the first half, the most first-half points they have recorded this season. 
> 40 of Temple's 68 points came from the paint. 
> The Owls held the edge in rebounds (43-32), assists (15-11) and blocks (5-0).
