LAST GAME
> On a day that forward Mia Davis broke the program's all-time scoring record, the Temple women's basketball team won in blowout fashion against the Wichita State Shockers on the 50th anniversary of Title IX on National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
> Davis, who scored a game-high 18 points, passed Marilyn Stephens who previously held the record with 2,194 points. Stephens, the only other player in Temple women's basketball history to score more than 2,000 points, set the record back in 1984.
> Davis: game-high 18 points and three steals
> Caranda Perea: career-high 15 points
> Kyra Wood: seven points, 12 rebounds and three blocks
> Aniya Gourdine: game-high eight assists and five steals
THE OWLS
> After dropping two road games against Memphis and UCF, the Owls got back on track against the Wichita State Shockers last Wednesday night, winning 70-49.
> Forward Mia Davis became Temple women's basketball's all-time leading scorer in the Owls last game against the Shockers. This week's Big 5 Player of the Week, Davis leads the conference in points per game, minutes per game, and field goal percentage this season.
> Sophomore forward Caranda Perea enters Sunday's game coming off her best game of the season after scoring a career-high 15 points against the Shockers. Perea shot 3-5 from three-point land.
> Freshman guard Tiarra East has started the last three games for the Owls. In those games, East has scored 21 points and collected 21 rebounds.
SCOUTING EAST CAROLINA
> The Pirates come into Sunday's matchup having lost four straight games, the first of those being against the Owls back on Jan. 19.
> East Carolina features one of the most prolific scorers in the American Athletic Conference as Taniyah Thompson is averaging 16.3 points per game this season.
> The Pirates pride themselves on forcing turnovers as East Carolina leads the conference and is ranked 11th in the nation forcing 22.29 turnovers per game.
LAST TIME THEY MET
> The last time that these two teams met was earlier this season when the Owls defeated the Pirates in Greenvile, 56-41.
> The Temple women's basketball team won their third game in a row over the East Carolina Pirates.
> The Owls ended the second period on a 13-2 run to take a 15-point advantage heading into the second half, and never looked back from there.Â
> Midway through the third quarter, Temple stretched its lead to 21 points and coasted the rest of the way for the victory.
