No. 9 Fencing Goes 4-1 in Final Day at Northwestern

EVANSTON, Ill. - After going 5-2 in the first day of the Northwestern Multi Meet, the No. 9 Temple fencing team went 4-1 to close out the two-day meet.
Meet Summary
> Temple opened the meet strong, topping UCSD 18-9.
> The Owls then edged No. 8 Northwestern 14-13 in round two for the team's seventh win over a ranked team this season.
> The team dominated Incarnate Word 24-3 before falling 19-8 to No. 4 Cornell in round four.
> The Cherry and White closed the meet with a 19-8 win over Air Force.
Individual Highlights
> Every foilist had a record of .500 or better. Anna Novoseltseva went 6-2, Constança Dimas went 4-1, and Anastasia Yankovskiy went 4-4.
> In epee, Margherita Calderaro posted a 7-1 record while Ashley Cherry went 5-3 and Sara Proctor went 3-3.
> Every saberist had a winning record, with Alexandra Weinberg's 7-5 mark leading the squad. Arwen Gormley saw a 5-4 record while Emma Pincus went 4-3.

> "This was the largest meet of the season and we were able to compete against several teams that we haven't seen so far. We finished the day with some great matches which is a testament to the training and conditioning we've been doing all year. We went 9-3 on the weekend and won some close bouts which showed how focused and determined the team has become.
