Roland and Donabedian Set For NCAA Regionals in Raleigh

PHILADELPHIA – On Thursday, Temple women's gymnasts Julianna Roland and Brooke Donabedian will take part in the evening session of day two of the NCAA Regionals in Raleigh, N.C., at Reynolds Coliseum.
Both Roland and Donabedian will be competing in Thursday's evening session on ESPN+, beginning at 7 p.m. ET. Donabedian will get the action started for Temple in the third rotation on the floor, while Roland will be in the fourth rotation on the vault.

INDIVIDUAL NCAA REGIONALS QUALIFIERS
Julianna Roland - Vault
- Roland goes into this week's meet qualifying on the vault for the second straight season for the Cherry and White.
- Last season, the Owls' co-captain finished tied for 14th at the Salt Lake City Regionals with a 9.850.
- This season, Roland finished the season with an NQS of 9.855, the eighth-best ranking in the northeast region.
- On Feb. 25, the Lumberton, N.J. native broke the Temple vault record in the same building, Reynolds Coliseum with a 9.925 at No. 29 NC State, giving her the second-best score in the EAGL this season.
- In 2022, Roland would tally at least a 9.800 on eight occasions this season, along with three event wins with scores of 9.900 or higher.
- Her tremendous performances on the apparatus garnered her 2022 All-EAGL First Team and EAGL First Team All-Tournament honors.
- Donabedian had a banner year on the floor in her second season with the Cherry and White as she finished with an NQS of 9.89, the second-best ranking in the EAGL Conference, tied for the 10th best ranking in the northeast region.
- With her selection to Raleigh in the floor exercise, Donabedian joins India Anderson (2019) and Faith Leary (2021) as the third gymnast in school history to earn an NCAA Regionals selection in the event.
- On March 6, the Maple Valley, Washington native tied the Temple floor record inside McGonigle Hall to close out the home regular season with a 9.950. Donabedian tied Temple alum Adrienne Carver's mark from 2000. The 9.950 also tied No. 1 ranking in the EAGL for the 2022 season.
- Donabedian had an outstanding stretch of 10 straight weeks of floor scores of 9.800 or better.
- The sophomore picked up two event wins during the season where she scored 9.900 or higher, including the Temple record, 9.950.
- Donabedian was recognized by the league with a 2022 All-EAGL First Team and EAGL First Team All-Tournament plaudits.
