Track and Field Ready for Big 5 Meet on Saturday

PHILADELPHIA - After two weeks of no competition, the Temple track and field is back in action in Philadelphia for the Big 5 Meet on Saturday, Apr. 2. The Owls will attempt to build off of their strong performances that they had at the UCF Black & Gold Invite at the beginning of the outdoor season.
About the Big 5 Meet
The throwing events begin the day at 12:00pm, but the Owls don't compete until 1:30 when multiple athletes take on the long jump and triple jump events.
Shortly after at 2:00pm, the running events begin for the Cherry & White as the Owls will compete in the 110m hurdles, 400m, 100m, 800m, 200m, 1500m, and 4x400m relay events.
Last Time Out
White set a personal-best in the 200m dash with a time of 24.29 to place 20th in the event.
Kwanda Knight, racing in the 400m hurdles for the first time this season, ran to a time of 1:03.70 to take 13th place.
In the high jump, freshman Amira Green placed sixth in the high jump with a mark of 1.62m.
On Saturday, White broke her personal-best in the 400m race once again this season, sprinting to a time of 54.06.
In the 3000m run, Emily Schuler (6th), Cat Shontz (7th), and Emma Seifried (9th) all placed in the top-10.

Temple comes home for a home meet at the Temple Sports Complex on Friday, Apr. 8. Events are scheduled to run from 2:00pm to 8:00pm.
