Women's Rowing Races at Eastern Sprints

WORCESTER, Mass. — The Temple women's rowing team competed at Eastern Sprints on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. Highlighting in the day was the Owls Varsity 8 advancing to the grand finals for the first time in program history.
The regatta included 20 teams from highly competitive programs. The teams competing include Boston College, Boston University, Brown, Colgate, Holy Cross, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Drexel, Georgetown, Gordon, Marist, Northeastern, Princeton, Radcliffe, Rutgers, UMass, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin.
Race Results
>The 3rd Varsity 8 boat kicked off the racing day for the Owls. The boat finished fifth in their heat with a time 7:48.622. The Owls competed in the petite final and finished fourth overall with a time of 7:51.412.
>The 2nd Varsity 4 finished sixth in their heat with a time 8:13.609. The Owls raced in the petite final and finished sixth overall with a time of 8:13.668
>The Varsity 4 placed fifth in their heat with a time of 7:47.365. The Owls placed first in the 3rd final with a time of 8:16.444.
>The 2nd Varsity 8 took fourth in their heat, just 2.7 seconds behind Harvard. The Owls clocked in with a time of 6:50.618. The Cherry and White took third in the petite final with a time of 7:03.870.
>The Varsity 8 finished second in their heat clocking in a photo finish time of 6:37.119. The Owls put up an impressive race and qualified for the grand final. The grand final included teams from Brown, Rutgers, Harvard, Northeastern, and Drexel. The Owls took sixth place with a time of 7:11.037.
