PHILADELPHIA - The Temple track and field team makes the trip to Wichita, Kan. this week for the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships which runs from Friday, May 13 to Saturday, May 15.

The team will look to build off of last year's impressive showing at the same event which saw the Owls record their highest-ever finish (3rd) with a program-best 81 points. The Cherry & White had five Owls (Emma Gee, Michelle Joyce, Lea Kerbiriou, Alanna Lally, and Grace Moore) earn All-Conference honors.

About the AAC Outdoor Championships
On Friday, Sophia Gulotti gets the action started for the Owls in the heptathlon when she takes her spot in the 100m hurdles at 12:30pm. Four hours later, Nicole Castor competes in the javelin throw.

As the evening comes, distance runners Laura Nicholson and Helene Gottlieb look to contend in the 1,500m run at 6:30pm followed by Chelby Elam, Chidumga Nkulume, and Christal Pommells in the 200m dash.

To close out the day on Friday, Kwanda Knight competes in the second heat of the 400m hurdles while Michelle Joyce and Cat Shontz look to battle the pack in the 10,000m run.

On Saturday, as Gulotti continues to compete in the heptathlon, Tannekee Strachan aims to better her personal-best 5.90m leap in the long jump at 3:00pm. The track events begin a few hours later as Nicholson and Gottlieb take the track once again, this time in the 800m run.

Afterwards, Mary Olayinka Ilelaboye and Marissa White will attempt to qualify for Sunday's final as the two race in the 400m dash. Closing out the day, sprinters Elam, Nkulume, Jewel Ofotan, and Pommells take their marks in the 100m dash.

On the final day, Tannekee Strachan competes for the title in the triple jump while Castor, Jaaliyah Evans, and Amira Green look to do the same in the high jump. The track events begin at 4:30pm with the 4x100m relay. As the day comes to a close, Joyce will attempt to defend her 5000m title at 6:45pm.

Last Time Out: Penn Relays
