Dunn Named Big 5 Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA - After a clutch performance for the Owls in the defeat of No. 1 Houston Sunday night, Temple men's basketball guard Damian Dunn has been named the Big 5 Player of the Week. The redshirt-sophomore was also named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll. This is the sixth Big 5/AAC honor for Dunn this season.
Dunn averaged 19 points and 3.5 assists per game in a 2-0 week for the Owls. Dunn was the game's leading scorer in both Temple wins, tallying 22 points, including 16-of-18 from the foul line, in a 73-58 victory over ECU, and followed that with a game-high 16 points, including the winning free throw, in the Owls' 56-55 win at #1 Houston on Sunday. It was Temple's first win over a ranked foe since defeating top-ranked Cincinnati, 77-69, on February 20, 2000.
The Owls will return home Wednesday night to host the South Florida Bulls for the second match-up in the series.
