Muller Named First Team All-Conference; Frey, Maes Named Second Team

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Three Temple field hockey players have earned All-Conference honors, as announced by the BIG EAST Thursday morning. Tess Muller has been named to the First Team while Molly Frey and Alizé Maes have been named to the Second Team.
Muller leads the team in goals with six goals, four of which have been game-winners. She is tied for second on the team with six assists, and has taken the majority of the team's penalty corner inserts. Her 29 shots rank second on the team, putting 21 on target for a .724 shots on goal percentage. The Naarden, Netherlands native assisted on two of the goals in the overtime win at Quinnipiac and posted a season-high three shots in the 4-0 victory over Villanova.
Frey has been a force in cage, recording 55 saves and five shutouts. Her 1.21 GAA ranks 21st in the NCAA while her 0.705 save percentage is sixth in the league. The Eagleville, Pa. native saw a career-high eight saves in the 2-1 win against Bucknell, and has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll three times.Â
Maes leads the team with eight saves, including two at Quinnipiac and is 38th in the nation in assists per game (0.44). She has posted three goals on the season and her 33 shots leads the team. The Antwerp, Belgium native has put 20 shots on target for a 0.606 shots on goal percentage, and posted a career-high six shots against LIU.Â
The Owls will open postseason play at the BIG EAST Tournament, facing the No. 2 seed Old Dominion in the semifinals on Nov. 3 at 4 p.m.
