Track & Field to Begin Season at St. John’s

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple track and field team will open the indoor season in New York City at the Youree Spence Garcia Invite hosted by St. John's. The Owls are poised for a big 2023-24 season, with 12 newcomers joining the Cherry & White, including six transfers.
Previewing the Owls
> Three Owls will run in the 60m dash, with Madison Trout, alongside newcomers Nya Browne and Terren Bolton. The same three will run in the 200m dash.
> Lauren Greig, Fiona Carter, and Giovanna Jennings-Scott will run in the 300m. Newcomers Jade Pope and Laila Cottom will run in the 400 and 500m, respectively.
> Browne, Carter, and Jennings Scott will compete in the 60m hurdles.
> On the jump squad, Amira Green and Nicole Castor return to the high jump. Green will look to build a strong 2023 campaign where she reached a new high of 1.74m.
> Allie Riches leads a new crop of pole vaulters. The program record holder leads Cierra Crane, Aliza White Vega, and Reece Sullivan to competition.
> Six Owls, including four newcomers, will compete in the long jump. The participants are Inara Shell, Obiamaka Igwenagu, Reagan Schwartz, Allyson Metzger, Carter, and Jennings Scott. Igwenagu, Shell, and Schwartz will also jump in the triple jump.

> Temple will return to the Keystone state to compete at the Angry Birds Invitational hosted by Lehigh on Dec. 8.
