Four Owls combined to go 35-0 during the meet

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – On Sunday, in its first team competition of the season, the Temple fencing team went undefeated on the day at the Sacred Heart Invitational, going 4-0.

MEET SUMMARY

To start the meet off, Temple defeated New York University in its closest match of its day, winning 17-10.
The Owls continued the meet winning the next three matches by large margins. The Cherry and White defeated Vassar, 24-3, outscored Sacred Heart, 26-1, and finished off the day with a 23-4 victory over NJIT.

INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS

Led by saberist, Lauren Johnson's 9-0 overall record, the Owls tallied five student-athletes with undefeated records, totaling a record of 35-0.
Johnson's 9-0 record led the saberists to a 29-4 record on Sunday. Fellow saberist Eva Ventura also went undefeated (8-0), but notably graduate student Zoe Turner had an excellent meet, going 7-1.
The TU foilists went a combined 32-4. Renee Oymann and Gretl Merges combined to go 14-0 on the afternoon, matching one another with 7-0 records.
Lindsey Minor led the epeeists with a 4-0 record.
