No. 11 Fencing to Compete at FDU Invitational

2.11.23 | Women's Fencing

PHILADELPHIA - Fresh off a 10-3 weekend at the Northwestern Duals, the No. 11 Temple fencing team will head to the Garden State for the FDU Invitational on Feb. 12.

The Owls are 22-15 on the season after their impressive weekend in the Windy City, with epeeist Sara Proctor's 17-4 over the two days leading the team. Proctor saw an 11-0 day on Sunday while fellow epeeist Anne-Mai Melles went 9-0. Constança Dimas posted a 15-5 record to lead the foilists. The Cherry and White topped No. 13 Stanford 17-10 and avenged a lost to UCSD from earlier in the season, falling to No. 5 Northwestern, No. 6 Ohio State, and No. 7 Cornell.

Foilist Anna Novoseltseva leads the team with a 46-19 season record, with Margherita Calderaro (epee) posting a 44-23. Eva Ventura leads the sabre squad with a 40-25 mark.

The Cherry and White will get a bye in the first round, opening competition against host FDU in round two at 9:30 a.m. before facing No. 8 (DIII) Stevens, NJIT, Wagner, No. 2 (DIII) Tufts, Hunter, and Drew.
