Damian Dunn Named Big 5 Player of the Week
2.20.23 | Men's Basketball
PHILADELPHIA - Redshirt sophomore guard Damian Dunn has been named the Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending February 19. This is the third Big 5 honor for Dunn this season.
Â
Dunn averaged 19 points and three assists in a 1-1 week for the Owls. The Kinston, N.C. native scored a game-high 24 points, making nine-of-13 from the field and four-of-five from three-point range, in the Temple's win over Tulsa Sunday. That win snapped the team's four-game losing streak. Â
With Temple leading by seven in the second half, Dunn scored eight straight points, including consecutive threes, to push the margin to 15 points. A few minutes later he tallied five points in an 8-0 Temple run to put the game away.  He also tallied 14 points and dished four assists in a loss to Wichita State.Â
For the season, Dunn is second on the Owls in scoring (14.5 ppg), assists (3.1 apg) and field goal percentage (.421) and tops the squad in three-point percentage (.380). Â
The Owls next play at Cincinnati on Wednesday (7 pm/ESPN2/1210 AM WPHT).
