No. 11 Fencing to Host Temple Invitational

PHILADELPHIA - The No. 11 Temple fencing team will close out the regular season at home, hosting the Temple Invitational on Feb. 26. The Owls will welcome No. 1 (DIII) Johns Hopkins, No. 10 Penn, No. 9 Penn State, No. 2 Princeton, Steven's (men's), and No. 15 St. John's to McGonigle Hall, with the team's five seniors to be recognized as part of Senior Day festivities.

The Cherry and White is 27-15 heading into the meet, going 5-0 at the FDU Invitational on Feb. 12. Elizabeth Novoseltseva (foil) led the team with a 9-0 record, with Anastasia Yankovskiy (foil) also going undefeated with a 5-0 mark. Margherita Calderaro (epee) and Anna Novoseltseva (foil) both went 8-1, and Alexandra Weinberg led the sabre squad with an 8-2 mark.

Anna Novoseltseva's 54-20 season record leads the team while Calderaro has a 52-24 mark to lead the epeeists and Eva Ventura's 43-27 record leads the saberists.

Temple will open the day against Penn State at 8:30 a.m. followed by Johns Hopkins, Princeton, Penn, and St. John's. Senior day activites will begin at approximately 1:30 p.m.
