Women’s Tennis Beats Norfolk St. Looking Ahead to Siena on Sunday

Philadelphia – The Temple women's tennis team (6-1) continued their winning ways on Saturday afternoon earning their fifth straight victory defeating Norfolk St. (1-6) by a final score of 6-1 at the Hecht Tennis Center on Penn's campus.

NOTES:

The talented duo of Evie Wei and Veronika Kulhava earned Temple's first win of the day from the second position of doubles. No. 8 Jamie Wei and Maiko Uchijima secured the doubles point from the first position with a 6-2 victory over the Spartan's top pair.
The lone Norfolk St. point came from the first position of singles play when Jamie Wei dropped the point to Aleksandra Evdokimova who won 6-3, 6-3.
Kulhava, Evie Wei, Kawaratani, Uchijima, and Takebe all followed Jamie Wei in the second, third, and fourth positions to secure the win for the Owls.
The fifth and sixth positions were won by default to start singles play as Nofolk State did not have enough players to fill the positions
