Owls Defeat Siena Saints 4-0 in Sunday Evening Matchup

Philadelphia – The Temple men's tennis team (7-2) completed the weekend sweep by defeating the Siena Saints (5-5) by a final score of 4-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Hecht Tennis Center on Penn's Campus.

"The men played very well today. Siena is a tough opponent, and I am happy with the result in both doubles and singles," Coach Steve Mauro said. "I am happy with the streak we're on right now and we look forward to keeping the streak alive against a good Drexel team on Wednesday. We're looking forward to the match.
NEXT UP:
Temple will quickly turn their attention to city-rival Drexel for a match this coming Wednesday, March 1. The match is scheduled to tentatively begin at noon.
NOTES:
- Marin Delmas with partner Alberto Blumenschein debuted out of the third position in doubles play picking up the win for the Owls before Louis Gorregues and Hussein El Tawil secured the doubles point from the second position minutes later.
- Louis Gorregues won the singles point first out of the third position where he remains perfect in the spring season. Gorregues is now 6-1 in the spring but 5-0 from the third position.
- The match was decided by Marin Delmas' win in the first position taking Siena's Dante Russo to a tie break in the second set. The Delmas win put Temple over the edge, 4-0.
